Experience: Roughly 10 years ago I found my specialties, Mace, Clubs, and Kettebells, through my life as a martial arts hobbyist (Muay Thai being my focus). My professional fitness journey began in 2023 when I launched Steel Mace community classes in Portland, OR. After 2 years, having established a singular strength & mobility Mace Yoga program, I embarked on a new leg of the journey in Personal Fitness Training.
Why Personal Training: My first career was in corporate, and I was not mindful of caring for my body during those days which lasted up to 12 hours. By age 30 I was walking with a cane and not enjoying life one bit. I had to be accountable! When I was finally ready to "show up" I found the help and resources that I needed and buckled down. I rebuilt my body and transformed my life experience. This process uncovered my passion & aptitude for fitness, so I decided to make the jump from corporate desk-guy to fitness trainer and guide.
Why Body Mechanix: I found Body Mechanix through a good friend while I was in town visiting family. I was immediately drawn in by the sense of community among staff and members. It's about competition with the self, vs competition with your peers. This creates a safe place where we can be vulnerable about what we really need to work on, and have fun through the grind of it. After hitting it off with Angelo and Terrell, I decided to join the fit fam.
